Symmetry — The Reversible Saturator

I built Symmetry because I love the colour of saturation but hate committing to damage I can’t undo. Symmetry’s core idea is simple: a clean, reversible saturation pattern. Drive a sound, shape the harmonics, and—if you want—mathematically reverse it later. The fun bit is what that enables: run two instances with any plugin in between, and you’ve effectively made that plugin non-linear. It’s like giving your favourite tools analog teeth without losing control.

Why it’s special

  • Reversible saturation engine – two instances of Symmetry with opposite Saturation levels completely undo each other.
  • Make anything non-linear – place Symmetry ➜ your plugin ➜ Symmetry (reversed) to impart real harmonic behaviour around processors that are normally clean.
  • Tone sculpting that makes senseSaturation, Gain, plus Bias to steer even/odd balance and where the curve “bites.”
  • Clean by default – blend in just enough grit, or go 100% for full character.
  • See what you’re doing – lightweight scope so you can visually confirm the curve and its effect in real time.

Great starting moves

  • Drive Symmetry into your compressor, then invert after it to make the compressor itself react non-linearly.
  • Subtle parallel on vocals for presence without harshness; push Bias for more even/odd flavour.
  • On drums, set Bias lower than Saturation for snap without brittle tops.
